Pool Monitor (Seasonal)
The Seasonal Pool Monitor is responsible for ensuring a safe, orderly, and enjoyable pool environment at luxury residential communities. This is a monitor-only role — Pool Monitors are not lifeguards and are not expected to perform water rescues or lifesaving duties. The primary responsibility is observing pool area activity, enforcing community pool rules, and escalating any concerns through the appropriate chain of command.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor the pool area during assigned shifts and ensure all guests and residents follow posted pool rules
• Observe and document any safety concerns, rule violations, or incidents and report immediately to the on-duty supervisor
• Maintain a visible, professional presence at the pool area at all times during the shift
• Greet residents and guests courteously and direct any questions or concerns appropriately
• Enforce pool capacity limits and access policies as directed by property management
• Complete shift logs and any required incident documentation in a timely manner
• Follow QCE's OBSERVE – REPORT – REFER protocol for all incidents; do not investigate independently
• Keep the pool area neat and orderly; report any maintenance issues or hazards to the supervisor
• Maintain communication with QCE management throughout the shift as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Must pass a background check through QCE's authorized vendor
• Reliable transportation to assigned properties
• Professional demeanor with strong communication skills
• Ability to remain alert and attentive during extended outdoor shifts
Preferred (Not Required):
• Current CPR and/or First Aid certification
• Prior experience in a monitoring, hospitality, or customer-facing role
• Experience working in a luxury residential or high-end service environment
SCHEDULE & LOCATIONS
This is a seasonal position. Shifts are primarily scheduled on weekends, with some weekday opportunities available based on property needs. Pool hours of operation are 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Shift assignments rotate across QCE-managed properties in the following areas:
• Uptown Charlotte
• SouthPark
• Pineville
Contractors should be available to work at any assigned location and must have reliable transportation.
DRESS CODE & UNIFORM
QCE will provide a company-branded t-shirt for all Pool Monitor contractors. Contractors are responsible for wearing appropriate shorts and clean sneakers. The uniform must be worn in full during all assigned shifts. A neat, professional appearance is expected at all times.
COMPENSATION & CONTRACTOR STATUS
Pool Monitors are classified as 1099 Independent Contractors and are compensated at $16.00 per hour. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own tax obligations. QCE does not withhold federal or state taxes from contractor payments.
